Our Blue Jays program emphasizes discovery and outdoor play.

Blue Jay’s weekly themes are explored through various activities, including art, games, movement, science, and storytelling. Each week will culminate with a group-wide event such as a community gathering, parade, or showcase. The Blue Jays will also enjoy daily time in Beauvoir’s outdoor pool for instruction with an assigned swim staff each week.

Blue Jays Camp Pricing and Details

Registration and Payment Balances for all programs are due in full by April 30, 2026. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of the child’s place in camp. Nonrefundable requires a $200 nonrefundable or transferable deposit (per camper) at the time of registration, as well as a $50 registration fee per camper—all remaining payments (less non-refundable deposits and fees) are nonrefundable after April 30. For questions regarding summer tuition payments, please get in touch with our Camp Director, Drew Mackay, at drew.mackay@bvrschool.org. Paying by check can be arranged through Abel Lambert (abel.lambert@bvrschool.org) in the Business Office. You are required to put in a credit card online at registration (plus the initial deposit must be made by credit card). For the remaining balance, checks must be received and cleared by April 30; otherwise, the card on file will be charged. Please note that Beauvoir Summer offers financial aid only to campers who are current Beauvoir students already receiving financial aid for tuition; current Beauvoir families may also apply for summer financial aid. Summer 2026 Themes

Our themes are incorporated throughout the week through various activities, projects, and conversations during the camp day, often culminating in a community-wide gathering on Fridays. Campers will also explore much of the Washington National Cathedral grounds through scavenger hunt games and connect with the outdoors. It’s a great place to be a camper! Daily swim instruction is part of the day, along with morning and afternoon snacks, lunch, and all are included in the program price.

Beauvoir campers of all ages have the opportunity to enhance their swimming skills through group instruction. Grouped by skill, campers learn a variety of swimming techniques, practice water safety skills, and play fun water games.

Swimsuit and Sunscreen Recommendations

We kindly request that parents send campers ready in their swimsuits (on their scheduled swim days) with sunscreen already applied. As we consider how to support camp counselors, please send your camper wearing a bathing suit, which will allow for optimal swim time. A bathing suit with a separate top and bottom is preferred for ease of use in the bathroom. We recommend sending in a spray sunscreen, which will reduce the need for counselors to assist with the hands-on application of sunscreen.
