Parking at Beauvoir

Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, is located on the grounds of the Washington National Cathedral. The Cathedral is located at the intersection of Massachusetts and Wisconsin Avenues in the upper northwest section of Washington, DC.

In an effort to be a good neighbor, please attempt to find a legal parking space on the Cathedral Close before searching in the neighborhood that surrounds Beauvoir and the Cathedral. Beauvoir has 26 visitor parking spots within proximity to the School. A permit must be displayed on your dashboard.

The Cathedral has an underground parking garage, in which families are encouraged to park. Please enter and exit the garage from the main entrance off of Wisconsin Avenue. Pull a ticket and Beauvoir will validate parking for up to three hours during business hours.

Directions to Beauvoir

Take Massachusetts Avenue north to Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right onto Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right onto Woodley Road. Turn right onto 35th Street (this is actually Beauvoir’s driveway). Beauvoir is at the top of the driveway. You will drive pass the National Cathedral School athletic facility at the bottom of the driveway on your left.

Take I-95 to I-495 W towards Silver Spring. Take Exit 33, Connecticut Avenue, towards Chevy Chase. Take Connecticut Avenue to Van Ness Street. Turn right onto Van Ness and continue to Reno Road. Turn left onto Reno Road. Continue down Reno Road, which will turn into 34th Street. When you get to the light at Woodley Road, turn right. At the next stop sign, turn left into Beauvoir’s driveway at the corner of 35th Street and Woodley Road.

Take I-495 over the American Legion Bridge into Maryland and take the Wisconsin Avenue/Bethesda exit. Follow Wisconsin Avenue to Woodley Road. Turn left onto Woodley Road. Follow Woodley Road through two stop signs. At the third stop sign, make a right into Beauvoir’s driveway at the corner of 35th Street and Woodley Road.

OR

Take the Memorial Bridge to the Lincoln Memorial, bearing right onto Rock Creek Parkway. Follow Rock Creek Parkway to the Massachusetts Avenue exit, turning left onto Massachusetts Avenue. Then follow directions from Downtown Washington above.

Take I-66 East to I-495 West, the Capital Beltway. Follow directions from Virginia and the South over the American Legion Bridge above.

From Tenleytown 
  • Take the Metro Red Line to the Tenleytown/AU station.
  • Exit on the west side of Wisconsin Avenue.
  • Take any “30” series bus (#30, #32, #34 or #36) or the 96 bus going south on Wisconsin Avenue.
  • Ride approximately one and a half miles south on Wisconsin Avenue to the Cathedral. (This is a downhill walk, if you prefer to walk.)
  • Walk on South Road alongside the Cathedral to reach Beauvoir.
From Dupont Circle 
  • Take the the N2, N3, N4 or N6 bus until you reach the intersection of Massachusetts and Wisconsin Avenues.
  • Walk north on Wisconsin Avenue one-half block to the Cathedral.
  • Walk on South Road alongside the Cathedral to reach Beauvoir.
From Woodley Park 
  • Take the 96 bus toward Tenleytown Station.
  • Get off the bus at the corner of Woodley and 35th Street.
  • Beauvoir’s entrance is at the corner.
