Spanish Language Associate Teacher (2024-2025 School Year)

Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School in Washington, DC, Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School, an independent co-educational primary school located in Washington, D.C., seeks a Spanish Language Associate Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Spanish Language Associate Teacher is a full-time faculty member who supports pre-kindergarten through third grade students, in the Spanish language class.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Spanish Language Associate Teacher is a full-time faculty member who supports pre-kindergarten through third grade students, in the Spanish language class.
  • The Spanish Language Associate Teacher will collaborate with the Spanish Language Teacher in all areas of planning and instruction to foster knowledge of and respect for Spanish language and culture, codesign a highly interactive and communicative Spanish language classroom, and positively support student learning.
  • Ideal candidates will possess a thorough understanding of curricular and instructional elements of elementary foreign language instruction and a demonstrated ability to promote an engaging learning environment and positive student behavior. 

Required Skills and Experience

Spanish language proficiency, a bachelor’s degree, and prior teaching experience with children in the early and/or elementary years is required. Successful candidates must pass a criminal background check and submit a completed health form in accordance with District of Columbia law.
