Beauvoir, The National Cathedral Elementary School, an independent co-educational primary school located in Washington, D.C., presently seeks qualified individuals to serve as guest teachers, both long and short term, throughout the year for various needs including absences, sick leave, interim teaching positions, and other school needs. Guest Teachers are assigned to classes serving infants/toddlers in our Early Learning Center and pre-kindergarten through third grade students in the event of an unexpected teacher absence, professional development, or scheduled leave. Guest Teachers are also assigned to Visual Art, Physical Education, Music, Science, Library, and Spanish classes. The need for Guest Teachers coincides with the academic calendar (September through early June).
Prior teaching experience with children in the elementary years is preferred. Interviews will be conducted on site and all successful candidates must pass a criminal background check and submit a completed health form in accordance with District of Columbia law. Please note that there are additional requirements for Guest Teachers working with students in infant/toddler and pre-kindergarten classes, as outlined by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education.
