The Early Learning Center at Beauvoir (ELC) is for children ages three months through three years old primarily for faculty and staff of Beauvoir, St. Albans School, National Cathedral School, and other employees of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation.
While the ELC is primarily filled with children of Beauvoir faculty and staff and the other Cathedral institutions, there is sometimes room for siblings, friends and family of current Beauvoir students - as well as students not yet affiliated with the Beauvoir community. In these cases, the school will decide on the process for admissions based on the amount of interested families.
According to Plato, "the beginning is the most important part of the work," and that is why the ELC strives to provide nurturing care and lots of opportunities for exploration and rich, stimulating activities. In the Early Learning Center at Beauvoir, children are at the center of our shared work and collaboration with
parents is essential to its success. Consistent with
Beauvoir's mission, the Early Learning Center program celebrates childhood, encourages collaboration and fosters the development of creative, curious and courageous learners, providing a strong foundation upon which to develop lifelong learners who embody kindness, honesty, respect and responsibility.
