At Beauvoir, we value
our diverse and inclusive community that authentically welcomes students and families from all faiths and backgrounds. We celebrate our individual stories and collective experiences. We value all spiritual traditions and encourage children to ask questions and learn from each other within a hospitable environment. As a Cathedral School, our students have the opportunity to learn about the common values of mindfulness and service to others. We invite everyone to come as they are and we will learn from one another.
At Beauvoir, all children in Pre-Kindergarten through Third Grade participate in monthly chapel services that reinforce the School’s
Life Rules and provide them with an opportunity to make connections within the community and the world beyond themselves. Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten chapels are held in Taylor Hall; First through Third grade chapels are held in the Great Choir of the Washington National Cathedral. Recent chapel services have included a blessing of the stuffed animals to celebrate St. Francis of Assisi, a chapel dedicated to the life of Martin Luther King in honor of Black History Month and a chapel series focused on the Beauvoir Life Rules of
kindness, respect, responsibility and honesty.
