  • Important Update from the Cathedral Community: School Closed on Wednesday

The State Funeral for former President George H. W. Bush will take place at Washington National Cathedral on Wednesday, December 5, at 11 a.m. Because of heightened security measures and road closures on the Cathedral Close that day, all Cathedral schools will be closed during the school day on Wednesday.

    A few notes and updates:
    • Winter enrichment and winter/spring language registration, originally scheduled to begin on December 5 at 10 a.m., will be rescheduled to begin on December 6 at 10 a.m. so that our staff is available to assist you with any questions during the beginning of the registration process
    • All Beauvoir after school programs are closed on Wednesday as well.
    • We are making a determination about scheduling for third grade ERB testing and will be in touch with third grade families shortly.
    • Finally, if your child was scheduled for an admissions play date on Wednesday, please know that it will be rescheduled and the Admissions Team will be reaching out to you in the coming days with a new date.
If additional schedule changes related to the service are necessary, we will advise you as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding and support of the Cathedral as it brings the nation together to honor the late president.
