A Coeducational School | Early Learners to Third Grade

Beauvoir's Elizabeth Eastwick Named The Lab School's Head of Lower School

Elizabeth Eastwick, Third Grade Partner Teacher at Beauvoir the National Cathedral Elementary School, has accepted a position as Head of Lower School at The Lab School of Washington effective July 1, 2022.
“I have loved having Beauvoir as my home since 2001, even when I was up the street at NCS,” she said. “I have grown up here both as an educator and as a person. I have watched my three children be nurtured by the entire community. I have loved the sincere connections and friendships I have formed with my colleagues, families, and most importantly my students. I thank Beauvoir for gifting me with the tools and confidence to try something new and always know that I can turn to friends here for support on my new adventures.”
Ms. Eastwick began her teaching career at Beauvoir as an Associate Teacher, later moving to the National Cathedral School, where she taught math, served as a homeroom teacher, and worked on the Admissions Team. Ms. Eastwick returned to Beauvoir as a Math Learning Specialist, and for the past six years, she has served as the Directing Teacher and two years as Grade Level Team Leader for third grade. In addition to her work as part of the team that researched, developed, and implemented the School’s math curriculum, Ms. Eastwick has held a broad range of leadership roles including Associate Teacher Coordinator, faculty representative on the Head of School search committee (2018), and leader of our recent AIMS accreditation review.
Her contributions to the school community extend from beyond the classroom, where she is well-loved by her students, faculty, staff, and school families who describe her as an innovative, collaborative, consummate professional and a trusted friend who exudes warmth and caring. Engaged learning and her students’ well-being have always been Ms. Eastwick’s guiding principles.
Said Head of School Cindi-Gibbs-Wilborn, “It has been extremely fulfilling to see Elizabeth grow into the strong and capable leader that I see today. While Beauvoir will mourn the loss of her exceptional talents and warm presence at Beauvoir, she is ripe and ready for this role, and I am thrilled for both her and The Lab School Community. They will be receiving a gem of an administrator!”
