Global Studies: Canadian Artist Sandra Silberzweig

This year Beauvoir is studying North America.  This study will include Mexico, Canada and the United States.  To incorporate our school-wide study of North America into our art curriculum, art teachers introduced the third graders to the artist Sandra Silberzweig. Sandra Silberzweig was born and raised in Toronto Canada in the 1960’s, and still resides there. She is a contemporary painter of Visionary Outsider Art, and has been painting all her life.  Together with their teachers, third graders looked at many of her paintings and then created their own art.  Here are the many ways the third graders were inspired.
