Director of Development Operations

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Advancement, this position will support a strategic advancement program, helping to engage constituents in the events and philanthropic opportunities at Beauvoir, enhancing the stewardship process, and records management functions across the breadth of the initiatives at Beauvoir.
  • Works closely with the Director of Institutional Advancement to fulfill the day-to-day operations of the Advancement Office with a focus on donor and volunteer stewardship.
  • Helps to coordinate a comprehensive records management plan, including the entry of annual fund gifts, scholarship auction items, moves management--furnishing the metrics by which the success of the Beauvoir advancement program may be measured.
  • Works closely with constituent groups and Community Engagement Associate to facilitate successful events, including the annual Beauvoir Scholarship Auction.
  • Works closely with the Director of Annual Giving to facilitate timely stewardship and acknowledgement processes.
  • Works closely with the Director of Communications and Digital Communications Coordinator to deliver targeted communications to Beauvoir constituents.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently; a self-starter with high level of integrity and the ability to exercise confidentiality and discretion; must be professional in all aspects.
  • Ability to collaborate with a six-person advancement team is essential.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to many constituencies including parents, donors, volunteers, and colleagues. Professionalism, maturity, good judgment and humor, flexibility.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in fundraising strategies and techniques.
  • A proficiency in relying on data to answer questions and an appreciation of its usefulness in undergirding goals and priorities.
  • Ability to write proposals and reports.
Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and five years of experience in development/fundraising, or other relationship-building areas in an educational institution or non-profit.
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge, preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT, as well as Blackbaud K-12 software and event management systems is preferable. Knowledge of auction software packages like BidPal also desirable.
