Employment Benefits

Health Plans

Employees may enroll for coverage under the PECF health insurance program which includes health, dental, vision, and employee assistance plans. The School offers two plan structures ($0 deductible plan and Consumer-Driven/HSA) both with network options to choose a plan with in-network benefits in the local DC/MD/NOVA area only or providing both in-and out-of-network benefits nationwide. Beauvoir pays a substantial portion of the individual and family premiums for health insurance and dental programs. Details are available on Closeweb and from the Director of Human Resources. The employee’s health plan premium contributions are exempt from federal, state, and Social Security taxes.

Employees enrolled in the Consumer-Directed HSA Plan will receive $500 for individual plan or $1,000 for family plan per year into your Health Savings Account, pro-rated for employees hired mid-year.

Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (Section 125)

The Section 125 flexible spending account (FSA) program allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars each pay period to pay for eligible out-of-pocket unreimbursed medical and/or dependent care expenses. This arrangement represents a significant tax-saving opportunity for those who have predictable dependent care and/or unreimbursed health care expenses.

Retirement Program

Retirement program is provided through Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA).
Participation is voluntary upon employment but is required after three years’ employment or upon turning age thirty (whichever is first). The employee's mandatory contribution is 5% of salary and the School contributes 7% of salary. Employees may elect to make voluntary pre-tax contributions in addition to the mandated 5%. The plan does not provide for after-tax contributions.

Commuter Rewards

The Commuter Rewards Program encourages employees to commute to work by methods which reduce traffic congestion, improve regional air quality, and reduce the need for parking on the Close and in the surrounding neighborhoods.

Continuation of Benefits (COBRA)

Employees and their dependents who enroll in the PECF’s medical or dental plans through CareFirst may be eligible to continue coverage at their own expense upon terminating employment with the School or experiencing other qualifying events.

Corporate Gym Membership

The PECF sponsors corporate gym memberships in partnership with Washington Sports Clubs (WSC) and Sport and Health Clubs. Employees may purchase a significantly reduced membership through payroll deductions for themselves and their eligible dependents; current memberships can be transferred into this program.

Disability Insurance

On the first day of the month following employment in a full-time position, employees are covered by a group long-term disability policy funded by the School.

Early Learning Center

The ELC is offered to employees (subject to availability) with children three months to three years of age, Monday through Friday during the school year, according to the published schedule. A limited program is maintained during Summer Camp season for an additional fee. Inquiries should be directed to the Director of the Early Learning Center. Enrollment is by contract for the full academic year (except for infants reaching the three-month requirement). Beauvoir employees receive a discount on tuition for this program.
Participation in the ELC is not a guarantee of acceptance into the School pre-kindergarten program.

Legal Resources

Employees may purchase this benefit to provide legal coverage for themselves, their spouse, and their eligible children.

Life Insurance

The School provides, at no cost to the employee, Group Term Life Insurance for all full- time employees. The amount of insurance is equal to one year's salary adjusted to the next higher.

Lunches are provided in the School’s dining room for all employees.

Professional Development

Funds are available to support continuing education programs and attendance at pre-approved workshops, conferences, school visits, and similar opportunities for professional growth.

Swimming Pool Membership

Beauvoir faculty and staff are offered a discounted pool membership at the rate of $50. Employees must register in advance on CampBrain. Employees who register for membership will receive a fob for admission to the pool.

Work-Life Balance Program

Through the Work-Life Balance Program, Beauvoir and the PECF provide you and your immediate family members with free twenty-four-hour telephone and online access to resources and professional counseling.
