BEAUVOIR CONTINGENCY PLANS

  • Contingency Plan 1 (Half-Groups Campus Learning and Make My Wednesdays)

    • Students in Beauvoir’s Early Learning Center (ELC) will return to campus on August 31, as the ELC typically opens one week earlier than our students in Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade.
    • ELC Students will be cared for in the current ELC classrooms with student-teacher ratios meeting current safety guidelines.
    • Students in Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade will return to campus for orientation week, September 8-11.
    • Classes begin September 14-October 30: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with all-school, virtual Make My Wednesdays (Community Meeting or Chapel, Enrichment activities, and synchronous opportunities).
    • Families in Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade will be asked to send their children back to school with a set of five, appropriately sized, face masks to be worn throughout the school day. Any adults arriving to Beauvoir’s campus will also be required to wear an appropriate face mask while on site.
    • Each partner teacher will teach their assigned A and B Groups separately in designated classrooms Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday until safety guidelines deem that it is safe to return to a shared classroom space.
    • Most specialist classes will take place virtually, with specialist teachers delivering instruction remotely to the students’ classroom.
    • Many office staff will work remotely during this period.
    • Any ABC and Enrichment Classes provided during the school year will take place through a remote learning experience.
    • Any students requiring remote learning will have daily access to Beauvoir via livestream video.
    • Families and caregivers should be prepared for a more abbreviated daily schedule than the typical school year.
    • The Beauvoir playground will remain closed to the community and open to Beauvoir students only during school hours to mitigate risk and allow for proper cleaning protocols.
    • Strict cleaning protocols will take place every day and evening throughout the building, on the outdoor playground, and inside all environmental spaces.
  • Contingency Plan 2 (Half-Groups Campus and Remote Learning Combined)

    • Students in Pre-Kindergarten through 3rd Grade will return to campus in half groupings each week (A and B). Group A will begin on campus the first week of learning, while Group B will engage in distance learning the first week. The two groups will rotate learning environments the following week, with Group B on campus and Group A engaged in distance learning. In most cases, partner teachers will rotate responsibilities, supporting both campus and remote learners until the safety guidelines deem that it is safe to return to a shared classroom space.

  • Contingency Plan 3 (Full Remote Learning and Make My Wednesdays)

    • All Beauvoir students, ELC through 3rd Grade will learn remotely from home during the week, Monday through Friday, including Make My Wednesdays.
    • Beauvoir faculty and staff will teach and work remotely.
    • Beauvoir will host optional “Make My Wednesday” enrichment experiences on Wednesdays, in conjunction with Beauvoir’s Virtual Community Meetings or Virtual Chapels.
    • Any ABC and Enrichment Classes provided during the school year will take place through a remote learning experience.
    • Students will have access to synchronous and asynchronous lessons via Beauvoir-issued iPads.
  • Contingency Plan 4 (Standard Year Campus Learning)

    • Beauvoir students return to school and join classrooms with two partner teachers in every classroom.
    • Beauvoir faculty and staff return to campus to teach and work.
    • ELC Students are cared for in the current ELC classrooms with student-teacher ratios meeting current safety guidelines.
    • Specialist teachers return to having scheduled classes with students on campus.
    • ABC and Enrichment Classes resume on campus, when appropriate and safe to do so.
    • Remote learning experiences that families may have opted into will be discontinued at this point as all teachers return to campus.
    • The Beauvoir playground will remain closed to the community and open to Beauvoir students only during school hours to mitigate risk and allow for proper cleaning protocols.
    • Strict cleaning protocols will take place every day and evening throughout the building, on the outdoor playground, and inside all environmental spaces.
