 | Third grade is an exciting year for our students, as they solidify old friendships and form new ones, discover new information and anticipate new beginnings. As senior Beauvoir students, they also relish the magical quality of their final year and begin storing away wonderful memories that will connect them to Beauvoir in years to come.
Third Grade is also a year for parents and children to choose where their lives after Beauvoir will take them. You looked at your child to find the best-fit school for the early elementary years. Third grade is a time to once again look at your child through new eyes and think about the school that best matches his or her learning style and academic needs.
James Carroll, Beauvoir’s Director of Guidance and Outplacement, works with students and parents EVERY STEP of the way to find the best fit for the years after Beauvoir. This thoughtful process includes:
- Individual meetings with families the summer before your child’s third grade year to discuss your child and fourth grade options.
- In the fall, Beauvoir hosts a series of parent coffees where area independent schools visit and present information about their programs. Parents are given the opportunity to ask questions at the end of the presentations.
- Guidance and information is provided during every stage of the decision making process.
After your family decides the schools to which you would like your child to apply, Beauvoir does the rest! We will send your child’s packet, complete with teacher recommendations, test scores, and progress reports, to the schools you selected. We will keep you informed of preliminary information we receive from area schools and final decisions will be made by mid-March. |
