Being a Beauvoir Parent
Parents of Beauvoir students are partners in their child's education.  The Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS), puts it best by saying: "To be successful, every independent school needs and expects the cooperation of its parents, who must understand and embrace the school's mission, share its core values, and fully support its curriculum, faculty and staff. When joined by a common set of beliefs and purposes, the independent school and its parents forms a powerful team with far-reaching positive effects on children and the entire school community."

Beauvoir's been fortunate over the years to have the support of many parents who have given their time and talents to enrich the life of the school. This tradition is an integral part of Beauvoir's history and continues as our community comes together each year.

Every current parent at Beauvoir is automatically a member of Parents Association (PA), which is led this school year by Hilary O'Hollaren.  As President, Mrs. O'Hollaren, who also becomes a member of Beauvoir's Governing board for the length of her tenure, oversees the PA as they organize the annual Scholarship Auction (held every Spring) and countless other service activities throughout the year such as: the Book Fair, the annual Walk-a-Thon and family picnic, Library Aides, Art Aides, Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day, and Flower Mart.  Descriptions of all volunteer actvities can be found on the volunteer forms under the "Parents Association Links" section of this page.  If you are interested in volunteering, just complete the appropriate online form.

Current Beauvoir parents may log-on to the secure portion of Beauvoir's website using their username and passwords, mailed to them at the beginning of the year.  Questions should be directed to Communications Director Leslie Stubbendieck via e-mail or phone (202-537-6496).
