Beauvoir, a beautiful 19th century estate, was given to the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation early in the last century. Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, was established in 1933 and became an instant success as a primary school focusing all of its resources on the education of young children. The legacy of this important gift is a school that has profoundly impacted the lives of thousands of children and their families for over 75 years.
The history of generosity and voluntary giving by the Beauvoir community continues to make the difference in our School's success. Educating a child requires more than a great faculty and curriculum. Beauvoir relies on the support and involvement of our entire community - including parents, alumni, grandparents, past parents, and friends.
Fundraising Efforts
There are a variety of ways in which the Beauvoir community can support the School’s needs of today and its needs for the future. The Annual Fund is Beauvoir’s largest giving program for the needs of today by directly supporting current year operating expenses. Our Leading Voices speaker series supports the professional development program for Beauvoir faculty and the annual Parents Association Scholarship Auction raises money for scholarship assistance. Fundraising efforts also support Beauvoir’s strategic initiatives for the future, such as Beauvoir’s endowment, Growing Together. A strong endowment will help secure Beauvoir’s future by equipping the school with the funds necessary to relieve pressure on tuition increases and address unforeseen challenges and opportunities.
